Bringing Clean Water Solutions to Underdeveloped Surf Regions with Lack of Safe Drinking Water

Jim Papik is from Pacific Palisades, California.

He started working in the family business every summer for about as long as he can remember. He learned at an early age the value of vision, organization and discipline to succeed. He started his own business not long out of high school and enjoys all aspects of business and the plumbing trade.

Jim is an ordained Christian Fellowship Ministries licensed pastor of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. He was the Senior Pastor of the Venice Lighthouse Church in Venice, California from 2005-2015. He has been able to preach and minister in multiple U.S. States around the country as well as internationally, preaching the gospel.

Jim has a large family of six children (five boys and one girl). When he’s not working, he enjoys surfing, traveling and spending time with his family.

Jim has traveled all over the world surfing and has had some competitive success as a surfer. He has competed in the W.S.A. (Western Surfing Association), Pro / Am Southbay Boardriders Club and the Venice Surf-A-Thon Master’s Champion for 2012, 2014 and 2015 in Venice, California.

Jim Papik’s experiences as a plumbing contractor, traveling surfer and his encounters with local communities in faraway destinations witnessing some of the basic water needs and issues became closely related. After a time of prayerful insight, Jim felt that his relationship with plumbing, surfing and the gospel didn’t have to stop when he boarded that plane home – so he decided to do something about it. That “something” eventually came to be called Sunset West Global, founded in 2025 with a focus on providing clean water to communities in need.
